--Megan Rebekah's THE WRITE STUFF--: The Elusive Voice

One of the lovely and talented writers I follow is Megan Rebekah. Today, she has knocked my socks off with the most straight-forward explanation of voice I've ever seen.

Read it, memorize it, print it out and hang it over your desk. Trust me, this is the real deal.

It's true!

I was just telling a novice the other day how their average joe 22-year-old shouldn't sound like the King James Bible in first person.

The Steve example is perfect. I have a feeling I will forever think of voice as the kind of Steve I need to use.

Hey, found your blog through a friend on FB. Thanks for the info.
PS: I like your profile info. It's also nice to giggle inappropriately. =D

Thanks for posting this one, Liz. Voice is always a challenge (for me, at least)

I also want to thank you for the post. It's simple and straightforward, and makes me feel better about writing in the voice I do. I don't have to worry as much about pleasing every single person!
